Overall Job Function:

The Precision Ag Equipment Specialist will be responsible to proactively build long-term, profitable relationships and work with targeted customers for Farmers Cooperative Society

Essential Job Functions:

At Farmers Cooperative Society the Precision Ag Equipment Specialist will:

  • Proactively lead the development, administration, and sales efforts of the Site Specific Ag hardware and software products. Includes direct on farm customer and prospect calls and support calls with FCS agronomists to sell, service, and support our equipment lines based on customized customer needs.
  • Maintain complete customer records.
  • Installation and trouble-shooting of all FCS SSA hardware and software solutions.
  • Promote, sell, and execute the SSA equipment service contract.
  • Advanced knowledge of hardware and software from Ag Leader, Trimble, Precision Planting, and 360 Yield Center and accompanying peripheral understanding of all farm equipment lines that will be installed on.
  • Complete accurate billing, ordering, and inventory controls of all SSA products and services.
  • Assist Precision Ag department data collection, and support sales activities for other SSA services.
  • Develops a territory sales plan, reports and executes a sales focused agenda aligned with agronomy territory plans. Knows and implements the FCS selling system.
  • Work with SSA Manager and Agronomy Management on targeted business planning and execution along with department innovation to keep us ahead of changing customer needs.
  • Assists other areas of Precision Ag or Agronomy department when needed or asked.
  • Attend key FCS meetings and training events.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma + College Coursework - minimum of 2 Years of Agronomy Sales or Related Experience
  • Technology Acumen Including Microsoft Software, Tablet Computer Use, Ag Aps, etc.
  • CCA Preferred
  • Minimum 2 years agronomy sales or related sales experience

Work Environment:

This position will flex time between an office setting and on farm time. Office equipment utilized will be computer, phone, fax, copy machine and other standard office equipment. While on farm employee will be exposed to elements, loud noise, agricultural equipment, outside weather conditions and vibrations. The employees is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate but occasionally may be loud. PPE will be provided and must be utilized when applicable and according to safety standards. Typical working hours are based on customer and organizational demand; hours may be long, irregular and including weekends and holidays during peak season.

Physical Demands:

While performing job functions the employee will be required to talk and hear most of the time. The employee will spend frequent intervals moving and sitting, while also needing to reach, bend, twist, crawl, crouch, stoop or kneel. The employee will need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently and maneuver on and off a mobile equipment. The physicality of this job is medium to high, depending upon work location.
